Education & Training
Dr. Megan Barnett received her medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in California, where the paradigm is the treatment of patients as a whole rather than treating physical ailments in isolation. This holistic approach to medicine has helped her recognize the complex interactions between mental and physical health.
After receiving her Medical Degree, she continued her training in the practice of anesthesiology at the University of California, San Diego. She finished her training in 2011 and practiced mostly in the military setting for over 10 years. She continues to practice anesthesia in the private sector today.
Dr. Barnett obtained additional certification in ketamine administration for mental health and pain disorders through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute in 2021. She maintains an active membership in the American Society of Ketamine Physicians where she is at the forefront of emerging evidence and techniques in the ketamine and mental health space.
Military Experience & Passion
Her unique experience as an active-duty Air Force anesthesiologist in a deployed combat setting has given her firsthand exposure to mental illness associated with trauma, including PTSD, anxiety, and depression. She is also deeply familiar with chronic pain caused by injury and medical illness through her years of anesthesiology practice.
She has been inspired by the life-changing results she's seen in her clinic and feels it is the highest honor to be entrusted with caring for her patients, often when they are at their most vulnerable. She values the trust her patients place in her and the opportunity to help them be the best versions of themselves.
